About

the maker.

My name is Neil Becker and I handcraft fine, one-of-a-kind, acoustic guitars out of my workshop in Maplewood, New Jersey.  My passion for guitar making was born out of my love for craft.  I have been a woodworker since high school and worked in various production fabrication shops in and around New York City.  In 2009, I opened my own boutique millwork shop in Brooklyn where I designed and fabricated high-end millwork and heirloom quality furniture for residential and commercial clients in and around the city.  The guitar, however was always my first love and ever since I completed my first acoustic guitar, I have been hooked and dedicated myself to building these wonderful instruments.

My goal is to create the absolute highest quality instrument possible – one that you will cherish for years to come, that inspires you to create your own art, and one that you will eventually hand down to someone else in your life so they will be inspired to create art as well.

This is not a venture I take lightly.  I believe in craft as way of life, a way to encourage those around us to be better humans, to speak our own truths and to hear others’, to take chances, and perhaps eschew modern commercialism and its obsession with manufactured obsolescence.

My instruments are completely handmade by me with you in mind.  I hope they inspire you to go out and make the world a better place - in whatever way you can.  If you are interested in learning more about how I build, visiting my shop and playing some of my instruments I encourage you to reach out to me.  I look forward to hearing from you.
